Basketball legend Michael Jordan is a true international icon. He is considered by many to be the greatest basketball player of all time. But interestingly enough, Michael was not considered an NBA hopeful in his early teens—in fact, as a high school sophomore, he did not even make the cut for his school’s varsity basketball team.
But Michael did not let that deter him from his passion for basketball. He progressively developed into a force to be reckoned with on the basketball court, and went on to win six NBA championships (the first in 1991), as well as ten NBA scoring titles.
Michael’s extraordinary spirit is fueled by his love for taking on challenges, as well as his tremendous self-discipline, his fierceness, his persistence, his step-by-step method of accomplishment, and his philosophy of having fun.
Just play. Have fun. Enjoy the game.
Once I get the ball, you’re at my mercy. There is nothing you can say or do about it. I own the ball
I’m all about challenges and seeing if I can go out and see if I can achieve something. If at the end of the day I do it, great. I f I don’t, I can live with myself.
I never looked at the consequences of missing a big shot… When you think about the consequences you always think of a negative result.
I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life, and that is why I succeed.
You have to expect things of yourself before you can do them.
