The chun tzu furthers/develops/completes/realization others’ good points/aims, and does not further others’ bad points.
The hsiao jen does the opposite.
The superior man [seeks to] perfect the admirable qualities of men, and does not [seek to] perfect their bad qualities. The mean man does the opposite of this. L
The nobler sort of man emphasizes the good qualities in others, and does not accentuate the bad. The inferior sort does the reverse. G
A good and wise man encourages men to develop the good qualities in their nature, and not their bad qualities; whereas a bad man and a fool does the very opposite. K
